Water World

This is one of the beautiful places which highlights the uniqueness of nature.

Water World is South Asia's first underwater tunnel aquarium and is the only public aquarium in Sri Lanka. It located in Kelaniya, on the banks of the Kelani River.

There is a combination of two sections,

•  The aquarium and a bird park.

Water World claims that they have the largest collection of fish in South Asia and which is home to a diverse collection of over 500 varieties of fish and invertebrates. There is a big range of aquatic life includes fresh water, marine and brackish water, fauna and flora. In the aquarium there are both local and foreign fish varieties.

At the Water World, you can see most rare and fascinating species such as Arapaima(The largest fresh water fish in the world. And also Electric eel(The world's most dangerous electricity generating fish) and lungfish(A fish with a real "lung" like a human).

The latest attraction at Water World is Underwater tunnel aquarium. It launched in 2013,it is the first of its kind in South Asia.

Not only that, there is a largest species collection of birds in the birds park, which is home to feathered friends from regions around the world such as Amazon rain forest in South Asia, Tropical Asia, Australia and Africa. A suitable environment that close to natural habitat has been created for them.

                                                                        

The grounds are well maintained with ponds and artificial waterfalls in here and there.There are many places to sit and relax including park and ground area.Water World is a marvelous place that rich in full of naturel beauty.
