Manelwatta Temple

 Manelwatta temple is a unique buddhist temple in Sri Lanka which is situated in Kelaniya.It is a modern temple constructed in a 16ha land in a calm and relaxing environment in close to the city of colombo.And also it is different from other regular temples in Sri lanka.This temple is more like a Chinese or Japanese temple.The reason is that its main sponsors are from China, Japan, Korea and India.So it consists mainly of Mahayana architectural features.


There is a large buddha statue at the entrance of the temple and also it is built on a very high stage on the top of the building.

Nagananda International Buddhist University is built as a part of Manelwatta temple.

If considered about the history of this temple, it was gifted to buddha sasana by a former president of Sri Lanka Mr.J.R.Jayawardhana.

The movie I loved the most in my childhood The Jungle Book is a American adventure film produced by Walt Disney Productions in 1967.The film based on Rudyard Kipling's book of "The Jungle Book".It was the last film that produced by Walt Disney.The story is about a feral child who raised in the Indian jungle by wolves.His name was Mowgli.The panther and the bear were his friends.So they tried to convince him to leave the jungle before arriving of the evil tiger.
